MY RECOVERY WORK-JOURNAL
RECOVERING FROM A MENTAL HEALTH CRISIS
The book the Recovery Work-Journal, Recovering from a Mental Health Crisis is for all people who have experienced a mental health crisis and who are in need of healing and recovery.
792 Million human beings suffer from a mental illness or crises world wide, may this be depression, schizophrenia, burn-out, anxiety disorder or other forms of psychoses.
Mental health crises often go hand in hand with loss. We lose our family, friends, job and sometimes even our homes.
Getting back into the breadth of life is a long and step by step process, it is arduous and paved with trials and tribulations. Often it is not easy, the difficulty being, that we have fallen out of our safe private, social and professional networks. We are no longer held by a support system of loved ones and more. We lack self esteem. We suffer from flash-backs, a kind of Post Traumatic Stress Syndrome resulting from very disturbing experiences we have been subjected to during a mental health crisis.
The Recovery Work-Journal is a book that is a tool for you on your way to recovery and healing. It is a workbook, much like a diary and it will accompany you over a period of 31 days or one month. Each day comprises two pages. You are asked a question about your life, your experience, your loss, your dreams and hopes for the future. These questions are intended to inspire you to reconnect with yourself, mend broken relationships and build back a support network for you and your life. You answer on these two pages in writing and or drawing and collages. All you need is the book, one hour a day, and a pencil. If you collage than a magazine and scissors and glue. The Recovery Work-Journal is an interactive book at the end of which you will have reflected and been inspired by your situation ready to master life again. It is a book you will return to again and again.
This book is one step on the way to recovery. It does not replace counseling, therapies and getting professional help which you must. Please do not stay alone and build your professional support system as you work with this book and alongside rebuilding your private, social and working life.
This book will help tap into deep seated self-healing resources you carry within yourself, it will tap into your resilience and make you get to know yourself a new. The My Recovery Work-Journal is one stepping stone of many back into living a whole and enriched life again for all those coming out of a mental health crisis. It is an honor to accompany you on this very special journey. Get excited about your mental health and life!
